It is no secret that the enemy’s greatest strategy at this time is against the family. But very few people analyze that what is happening in the spiritual realm is influencing the natural realm.
The family is being attacked from many fronts and this is the reality we are living. The devil is the main enemy behind all the attacks that marriage is suffering because he knows that if he destroys marriages he has won one of the most important battles because if he destroys marriage, he destroys the next generation, our children, he stops the church because a church with broken marriages cannot effectively serve God. He knows that if he destroys marriage, in the end, he destroys cities, and nations because the foundation of everything is the family.
Experts in the study of the behavior of families have concluded that, once a family dissolves, it breaks, resulting in a bad society either in a town or in the country as the studies carried out by psychologists, and various investigations in which they have been dedicated to seeing how the family works and its effects on society, they have to see the way in which it develops, how is the internal behavior of internal family relationships, they wonder whether or not there is a good treatment within the family nucleus.
On the other hand, God’s plan is to bless families, both in the Old and New Testaments God blessed families and when God blessed Abraham he blessed him and his family, the same with Noah, even Joshua declared ”- I and my house will serve Jehovah.”
But marriage is losing the value it used to have, and now it is seen as any other legal contract, and even sometimes it is seen with less value. Now it is not seen as something permanent, and to which we give our most sacred commitment.
In recent decades, Israel has seen a considerable increase in the proportion of single-parent families: from around 4% in the 1970s to 12.7% in 2014. This increase corresponds to a trend of a significant increase in the phenomenon of single-parent families. single parents – Parenthood, both due to the increase in divorce rates and the significant increase in births among single women who choose to give birth without a partner. Today, at the head of the absolute majority of these families, more than 95%, is the wife.
“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold” Matthew 24:12

Single-parent families from the beginning belong to the weakest groups in Israeli society. In these families, there is one breadwinner versus two breadwinners as in most two-parent families, when this single breadwinner is also the sole caretaker of their children.
In addition to this, 90% of single-parent families in Israel are headed by women who are also in a lower financial position compared to men. Women who head single-parent families also have, on average, less education, earn less per hour, and work more hours per week than married mothers. For the average single-parent family in Israel, monthly expenses exceed income.
That is, while the average monthly income of single-parent families is much lower than that of families with two parents, there is not a great difference in the average monthly expenditure between the two families. This gap emphasizes the need to provide financial assistance to single-parent families. In 2019, the incidence of poverty among single-parent families was 21.8% compared to 17.0% of all families with children.
Our response to the need
Our City Of Life Community Outreach ministry actively supports a large number of single mothers in our city Sderot and the Gaza border region by providing help and meeting their needs in different areas.
From food baskets to counseling and psychological guidance, our team is always close by bringing relief and comfort and making sure that they and their children lack nothing.

As in the case of Tamar, a single immigrant mother who must take care of 6 children, one of them with special needs whom she cares for with great devotion, despite missing the fingers of one of her hands, she struggles to cover her basic needs each month.
Having experienced such a difficult life before reaching Israel, she has gone through many traumas as her family left Ethiopia towards Israel through Sudan she was separated on the way and had to survive alone for many years in Sudan until she finally reached the promised land of Israel, these are deep wounds of the soul that Tamar carries to this day but nevertheless, after receiving our concierge she feels more optimistic and with faith that everything will be fine.
Just like Tamar, there are other single mothers, each with their own particular story, who are happy to know that they can count on our support and dedication to be able to move forward, and they appreciate our help and love that brings them relief in their hard lives.
Our role as the body of the Messiah is to bring hope to this lost world and illuminate in times of darkness creating an impact on society, so our ministry is committed to reaching as many people as possible who suffer, and many of them depend on our commitment and dedication for the work of the Lord.
You too can bless them and be part of this commitment of obedience to the Lord together with us by joining in our goal as there are still many families to reach with the help and together we can achieve it.
You can be part of and impact the lives of more people who need help in our city and together show them the way, the truth, and the life.
We invite you to be part of our ministry so that together we can bring hope to our border town of Sderot.
Our work would not be possible without the help of partners like you, so we ask you to consider in prayer the possibility of a monthly commitment that will allow us to continue with the Lord’s work here in Israel.

Sincerely yours
Pastors
