For many children living in the communities near the Gaza border, childhood has been shaped by experiences no child should have to carry.
Born into a region marked by years of conflict and instability, these children have grown up hearing sirens, running to bomb shelters, and living with the constant uncertainty of life near a conflict zone.
Many have been affected by prolonged stress and trauma, with some experiencing post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and behavioral difficulties connected to growing up in an environment of fear and insecurity.
Offering support in this situation, City of Life took a group of children from Sderot to spend a recovery day at a water park, giving them a time where they could enjoy themselves, laugh with friends, and experience a sense of normal childhood away from the reality they face.
Watching them play and seeing their smiles, we know this is part of the beginning of their healing process, a long path that requires time, care, and hard work. We will continue to help them, because we understand that these children are the future of Israel, and investing in their lives is essential.
