In recent years the cost of living in Israel has been rising overwhelmingly driving many families into poverty, even cities like Tel Aviv are among the most expensive in the world to live.
The COVID pandemic and the new global energy crisis have only made the situation worse, especially in the southern area along the Gaza border, which has been experiencing depravity for years due to the fragile security situation.
However, in these difficult times, it is still very common to see the “Fast fashion” industry grow. Many people obsessively buy clothes they don’t really need just because “it’s trendy this season”.
By contrast, in our city Sderot and the border region with Gaza due to various factors such as lack of employment and opportunities because of living in an area with a high rate of terrorism, rocket attacks, and warning alarms, a large majority of families in need of The region lacks clothing in good condition, so they depend on the help provided by our “City Of Life” ministry and our Community Outreach, in which we have set ourselves the task of supporting this vulnerable sector of families.
Our response to the need
In our last distribution that took place recently, many families of the neediest came and were blessed by our team who received them with love and gave them help to choose the right clothes according to their needs.
On this as on every occasion that they give help to marginalized communities, it is very satisfying to observe the smile of children and adults who only make that expression as a form of gratitude.
“And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you?”
Matthew 6:30
We at “City Of Life” want to be tools in the hands of the Father to reach the needy and transform their lives so that the Father can “clothe” his people not only with physical clothing but also with “clothing from above” in the spiritual area.
We strongly ask for your prayers in favor of our clothing distribution project, which has been greatly affected since the persecution against us by the authorities, which has led us to the closure of our adapted container-room, in which our organization, storage and distribution of clothing were fully functional. Let us pray that we can soon overcome the legal obstacles and regain this vital space that has helped and blessed countless families in our region on Israel’s border with Gaza.
Our role as the body of the Messiah is to bring hope to this lost world and illuminate in times of darkness creating an impact on society, so our ministry is committed to reaching as many people as possible who suffer, and many of them depend on our commitment and dedication for the work of the Lord.
You too can bless them and be part of this commitment of obedience to the Lord together with us by joining in our goal as there are still many families to reach with the help and together we can achieve it.
