In the midst of the ongoing conflict in Israel, economic uncertainties have cast a shadow over businesses, with Hassan, a local business owner, highlighting the struggles he faces due to reduced work and a lack of tourists. The economic impact of the current situation is compounded by ambitious government goals, a significant increase in reservists, and the existence of two fronts instead of one.
Despite the challenges, Israel’s economy, known for its resilience in previous conflicts, is showing signs of stability. However, behind the official unemployment rate of 3.4%, there lies a more complex reality. The number of workers temporarily absent from their jobs has surged from 160,000 to 430,000 in October. This broader definition of unemployment suggests a more realistic figure of around 6%, emphasizing the need to consider various factors influencing the economic landscape.
Supporting Sderot and Netivot Amidst Turmoil: A Beacon of Hope
Amidst the economic turbulence, our efforts in Sderot aim to bring relief to those in need. With the influx of reservists and the evacuation of workers, industries like construction and skilled labor are facing challenges. However, our commitment to providing essential support, especially in the form of food distribution, aims to alleviate the burden on families affected by the conflict. As industries adapt and workers return, we remain dedicated to our mission of making a positive impact in the lives of those enduring hardship.
Our dedicated team is working tirelessly to provide essential food items to those who need them the most. It’s not just about giving groceries; it’s about sending a message that says, “We’re here for you in these tough times.”
