On the recent commemoration of Israel’s independence, we celebrated not just a nation’s birth but also recognized the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. This year, the significance was heightened as we faced a war for our very existence, with much of the world seemingly against us. Despite protests and arguments claiming Israel had no right to exist, as believers, we understood the biblical prophecies foretelling the regathering of the Jewish people to their land.
The establishment of the State of Israel stood as a direct fulfillment of these prophecies, essential for the arrival of our Messiah, Yeshua, who was prophesied to come to Jerusalem. Because of this, on that Independence Day, we joined our people in celebrating God’s faithfulness and miraculous protection.
Since its creation, Israel has faced immense challenges, and during that time, it continued to confront them, even as the world turned its back. Yet, we believed the Lord was in control. We blessed Israel on that Independence Day, reaffirming our commitment to its safety and security.

The Biblical Significance of Israel in God’s Redemptive Plan

Our faith establishes a profound connection between the people of Israel and believers, rooted in Scripture and God’s redemptive purposes for humanity. Since the Old Testament, Israel has been God’s chosen people, with whom He established a special covenant, anticipating the arrival of the promised Messiah. Through prophecies and promises, the Bible reveals the ongoing significance of Israel in God’s redemptive plan, evidenced in Jesus Christ’s birth as a descendant of Israel to fulfill the prophecies. The New Testament teaching emphasizes that God has not rejected His people but has extended salvation to all, including Gentiles, highlighting the importance of supporting and blessing Israel as an integral part of God’s purposes for redeeming the world.
The continuity of the special relationship between God and Israel is reflected in passages like Romans 11:1, which affirms that God has not rejected His people, and in other scriptures showing the incorporation of Gentile believers into the blessing and salvation promised through Jesus Christ. These verses underscore the importance of recognizing and supporting Israel as an integral part of God’s eternal plans for His people and the world, inviting believers to participate in the fulfillment of these divine purposes.
In conclusion, we acknowledge the importance of supporting and blessing Israel as an integral part of God’s divine purposes for the redemption of the world, as revealed in Scripture. As believers, it is our responsibility to extend this support beyond borders, and our calling is to bless the families in our region, especially in Sderot and areas affected by years of conflict with Gaza. The recent attack on October 7 underscores the urgency of our commitment to provide comfort, assistance, and prayers to those who have suffered and been impacted by violence.

Join us in making a difference during these challenging times. Your support can bring relief and hope to families enduring the impact of the conflict. By standing with City of Life, you become a vital part of our calling to alleviate suffering and inspire resilience in the hearts of those facing adversity. Together, let’s extend a helping hand and be a source of comfort for families in need.
You can be part of and impact the lives of more people who need help in our city and together show them the way, the truth and the life.
We invite you to be part of our ministry so that together we can bring hope to our border town of Sderot.
Our work would not be possible without the help of partners like you, so we ask you to consider in prayer the possibility of a monthly commitment that will allow us to continue with the Lord’s work here in Israel.

Sincerely yours
