The story of Purim tells us of Haman, a Persian minister who plotted the destruction of the Jewish people out of hatred. With the support of King Ahasuerus, he decreed their annihilation. Yet, his plan turned against him, and Israel not only survived but emerged stronger.
Today, over two thousand years later, we see a similar situation. The Iranian regime, openly declaring its intention to eradicate Israel, has assumed the role of Haman. They finance and support groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad, arming and training them to wage a continuous war against the Jewish people.
Like in Purim, the threat from Iran is not just a conventional army but a web of conspiracies and indirect attacks. Iran uses proxies across Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen while advancing its nuclear ambitions. In ancient Persia, the genocidal decree was sealed by the king; today, it is written on missiles, proclaiming Israel’s destruction.
However, history teaches us that the enemies of Israel may plot its destruction, but their own plans will turn against them. Haman was hanged on the very gallows he built for Mordechai. Similarly, the Iranian regime, despite its efforts, faces a timeless truth: the Jewish people not only survive but thrive against all odds.
Purim is not just a past story, it is an eternal reminder. Though Israel’s enemies multiply and threats seem overwhelming, victory does not depend on human strength but on faith, unity, and decisive action. Just as Mordechai and Esther stood firm, today Israel and the Jewish people must trust in the God of Israel, who is the true protector of His people. For, in the end, it is not human power but God’s promise that ensures Israel’s survival:
“He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:4).
God has delivered His people in the past, does so today, and will continue to do so in the future, ensuring that light will always triumph over darkness.
You can be part of and impact the lives of more people who need help in our city and together show them the way, the truth and the life.
We invite you to be part of our ministry so that together we can bring hope to our border town of Sderot.
Our work would not be possible without the help of partners like you, so we ask you to consider in prayer the possibility of a monthly commitment that will allow us to continue with the Lord’s work here in Israel.

Sincerely yours
