As we had anticipated recently, we had one of the most joyous festivals of the Jewish people, Purim! In this incredible biblical festival where we remember with costumes and sweets how God used Queen Esther and her uncle Mordecai to save the Jews who lived in Persia from the evil Haman, as the book of Esther tells us.

To celebrate this important holiday, in other circumstances, in our ministry “City of Life” we would have organized a great celebration for the children and their families in traditional style with costumes, gifts, games and activities to remember the biblical story together.

But because of the restrictions due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the children could not be able to attend the traditional Purim parties and events as they do every year and have a pleasant time away from the traumatic situation they have to face in the day-to-day life of our city that suffers the consequences of extremist Islamic terrorism.

For this reason, thinking of making the hearts of the little ones happy, our team from the “City of Life” ministry decided to bring the Purim holiday to the homes of the neediest children in our city, taking the precautions required by the authorities.

Our team along with volunteers from the congregation set about preparing and wrapping special gifts for the children which included, of course, delicious treats for the discouraged children of Sderot to enjoy.

And our clown visited each child in need bringing them the wonderful gifts as well as doing his fun show giving encouragement to the poor children of our city Sderot.

Also the parents of the children received our help from Purim in supermarket vuchers to be able to entertain their children with an abundant special Purim dinner.

Happy parents thanked us for easing the difficult time their children are going through and bringing them a Purim smile.

The Lord allowed us to bring joy and love to children despite the difficult situation we are going through due to the pandemic.

We invite you to be a part of our ministry so that together we can bring hope to our border city of Sderot.

We invite you to be part of our ministry so that together we can bring hope to our border town of Sderot.

Our work would not be possible without the help of partners like you, that is why we ask you to consider in prayer the possibility of a monthly commitment that will allow us to continue with the Lord’s work here in Israel.

Sincerely yours
