When Jacob and his family first arrived in Egypt, they were simply a large extended household. But as generations passed, despite living under harsh conditions and slavery, they multiplied and grew into a powerful people, just as it is written: “But the Israelites were fruitful and increased greatly” (Exodus 1:7).
The Exodus wasn’t only a physical escape from bondage — it was a deep spiritual and national shift. The people of Israel went from being enslaved to being chosen by God, set apart with a unique identity and divine purpose.
What’s truly significant is that God didn’t just liberate them; He led them into the wilderness to shape them — giving them the Torah at Mount Sinai, along with laws, a calling, and a covenant with Him. As He proclaimed:
“Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession… You will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:5–6).
So, Pesach isn’t only about the end of slavery, it marks the beginning of redemption, the birth of a deeper relationship with God.

Today, we witness how the modern State of Israel is a living continuation of that ancient promise. Once scattered among the nations, the Jewish people have been brought back to the land God pledged to them, rebuilding, restoring, and living out His covenant.
As it says in Amos:
“I will bring my people Israel back from exile. They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them… I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted” (Amos 9:14–15).
Through this lens, Pesach is more than a commemoration of the past, it’s a powerful reminder that God has always led His people, both in ancient times and today, after the rebirth of the State of Israel. His covenant is everlasting, as He once declared:
“I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever” (Exodus 32:13, NIV).
Can you see the link between the story of Passover and the ongoing journey of Israel as a nation today?
You can be part of and impact the lives of more people who need help in our city and together show them the way, the truth and the life.
We invite you to be part of our ministry so that together we can bring hope to our border town of Sderot.
Our work would not be possible without the help of partners like you, so we ask you to consider in prayer the possibility of a monthly commitment that will allow us to continue with the Lord’s work here in Israel.

Sincerely yours
