Ora and Val are a new migrant couple from our city Sderot with whom we have been in contact lately to help them overcome their dramatic history.

Both former army officers of Jewish origin are from the occupied region of Ukraine, where since 2014 a military confrontation has taken place between the army and pro-Russian rebel militias.

During that time Ora went through a traumatic experience when she was kidnapped by opposition militants who kept her for several days in one of their secret facilities where they interrogated her harshly and threatened her saying that her loved ones, including her mother, would be injured if she did not cooperate and did not give information about her work.

Terrified by the situation she was experiencing, Ora, knowing that her life was in complete risk since it was most likely that she would end up being murdered, she began to pray and cry out to God for the salvation of her and her family.

Ora remembers that: “I asked the Lord for help and I asked for her mercy. When I began to pray, I suddenly had a revelation and realized that for us as Jews, Israel would be the only safe place”.

In a miraculous way, Ora was eventually released, which represents a great manifestation of God’s mercy as one of Ora’s companions, also held hostage, was brutally murdered by separatist militias.

Ora and her husband Val fled to Israel leaving all their belongings behind, finally being able this year to start their new life in our city Sderot and despite the great joy and enthusiasm they show, Ora’s health was strongly affected as a result of the traumatic experiences lived by her, affecting her vision that has worsened a lot along with an increasing numbness in the left arm, both legs and other psychological disorders in general. In addition, she was diagnosed, among other things, with multiple sclerosis.

Currently Val is working in a not very well paid job while Ora who is unable to work must go through a long medical treatment and therefore currently this family is in great need.

You can support this family and give them the relief they need to start their new life in the Promised Land, click below

We invite you to be part of our ministry so that together we can bring hope to our border town of Sderot.

Our work would not be possible without the help of partners like you, that is why we ask you to consider in prayer the possibility of a monthly commitment that will allow us to continue with the Lord’s work here in Israel.

Sincerely yours
