Across the world, few pause to think about the children living on Israel’s border. In Sderot, just a few kilometers from Gaza, kids grow up under constant threat, exposed to sirens, rockets, and years of conflict. These are the forgotten children, whose fears and scars are rarely seen or acknowledged by mainstream media or social media, and whose voices are too often overlooked. Their days are filled with uncertainty and anxiety, and their hearts carry invisible scars that most of us cannot imagine.
Years of conflict have left deep emotional marks, yet they continue to dream, play, and hope for moments of normalcy. These children deserve to be seen, cherished, and nurtured.
In this reality, City of Life Ministries recently hosted a Hanukkah celebration that brought light and happiness into the lives of these children. At the ministry, they enjoyed a lively show with music and performances, received gifts and sweets, and simply experienced the joy of being kids in a safe, caring environment. For a few hours, laughter replaced fear, and smiles replaced anxiety.
The celebration carried deep symbolic meaning. Hanukkah, the festival of lights, reminded everyone that even in the darkest places, hope and faith can shine. As the candles were lit and the children enjoyed their gifts and treats, they experienced not only joy but also reassurance that they are loved, supported, and never alone.

You can help us continue bringing light into the lives of Sderot’s children. Your prayers, support, and partnership make celebrations like this possible and provide lasting hope to young hearts living under years of conflict. Stand with us and be part of a work that transforms lives, one child at a time.
Happy Hanukkah!
