The situation of insecurity and terrorism that we face every day in our region, where sirens are constantly heard announcing the arrival of more rockets fired from neighboring Gaza, has had severe consequences for the mental health of the population of Sderot. This is especially true for children, who are more vulnerable to developing disorders and post-traumatic stress as a result of the harsh conflict, the constant sirens, and the noise of rockets hitting the city or being intercepted in the air.
In addition to all these challenges, the children have endured the trauma of the recent war, the evacuation to safer parts of the country, and their return to the city, even though the war is ongoing and missiles are still being fired from Gaza. Therefore, the trauma is even greater.
With the desire to bring relief and rest to so many children who still carry fear as a scar from the war, we at “City of Life” are organizing a new “Recovery Day” trip to an amazing water park with slides and children’s pools. After the success of the previous trip, where we witnessed significant improvements in the children’s spirits, we are excited to offer this opportunity again.
These children are the future of our country, and in our “City of Life” ministry, we consider bringing them hope and joy as one of the most important ways to support them at this critical time in their lives.
