We thank the Lord that by Divine provision, just before the war between Israel and Iran, we had the chance to celebrate the biblical festival of Purim.
The children of Sderot enjoyed a show, games, and gifts, a brief moment of relief and hope before returning to a new conflict.
Most likely they were the only children in our city to celebrate together one of the happiest festivals of the Jewish people, today mostly focused on children.
Purim is one of the most joyful biblical celebrations in Israel. It commemorates the story recorded in the Book of Esther, when the Jewish people were living in the Persian Empire. A royal official named Haman plotted to destroy the Jewish people, but through the courage of Esther and the wisdom of her cousin Mordecai, the plan was exposed and the Jewish people were saved. The story shows how God protected His people even when the danger seemed unavoidable.
Today in Israel, Purim is celebrated with great joy, especially by children. Families read the story of Esther, share gifts of food, help those in need, and gather for festive celebrations. A popular tradition is to dress in costumes, remembering how Esther concealed her Jewish identity in the court of Ahasuerus until the right moment to save her people.

Since 2001, families here have lived under the constant reality of rocket attacks, explosions, fear, and ongoing trauma. For many, this has sadly become part of daily life.
In the midst of this reality, our ministry continues to stand with local families, helping them navigate these very difficult circumstances. Through practical help, encouragement, and a caring presence, we remind them that they are not alone.
We invite you to keep standing with us in prayer for the families of this region and to partner with us as we reach those living under constant threat. Thank you for being part of what God is doing here.
