Life in Sderot is not easy for children. They grow up surrounded by the constant fear of rockets and the uncertainty of what tomorrow will bring. While the world often talks about Israel only in terms of conflict and danger, what is rarely shown is the everyday reality of families here. These are families simply trying to live a normal life and children who, despite everything, continue to dream, to hope, and to look forward to their future.
One of those children is Yshai, a 14-year-old boy from Sderot. He is full of energy and passion, and like many kids his age, he loves football. His dream is to become a goalkeeper for the Be’er Sheva team. He proudly says that in his practices he manages to stop almost every ball, and he wants to show his family that he is a good goalkeeper. For Yshai, the new school year is exciting because it means being with his friends again. Yet deep inside, he also hopes there will be no new dangerous situation that interrupts his chance to simply live like every other child.
But for families like Yshai’s, the beginning of the school year brings more than just hope—it brings financial challenges that are often too heavy to carry. School supplies, backpacks, and the basics every child needs are out of reach for many. This is why we stepped in to help, determined to bring relief and joy to children and parents as they prepare for the year ahead.
At our outreach center in Sderot, we organized a special distribution of high-quality backpacks filled with school supplies. The smiles on the children’s faces as they opened their backpacks said it all, excitement, joy, and the simple relief of being ready for school. Parents expressed deep gratitude, saying that this help was one less burden to worry about in these difficult times. These backpacks were not only about supplies, but about restoring dignity, hope, and the sense of a normal childhood.

These children are the future of Israel, and together we can stand with them. Thank you, dear friends, for being part of this work, for bringing encouragement, and for helping us make a real difference in the lives of families like Yshai’s. Your support shines as a light in the midst of uncertainty. Let us continue together to bring hope, comfort, and strength to the children of Israel.
