Today Israel observes Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. As in every year, ceremonies are held across the country, including in Sderot, a city all too familiar with the sound of sirens. But this time, the siren that will sound is different, a siren of remembrance.
At 10 a.m., for two full minutes, everything comes to a halt. Cars stop. People pause. The entire nation stands still in silence, remembering the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, for one reason alone: because they were Jews. Children, women, the elderly. Burned in flames, drowned in the blood of human hatred.
The Holocaust is not just history written in books, sometimes, it breaks into our present. The October 7th attacks were a painful reminder that hatred toward the Jewish people is still alive. The question remains: Why? Why such deep hatred toward Israel?
The answer is not merely political or social, it is spiritual. The enemy of God, Satan, hates Israel because he knows that the story of redemption is inseparable from this people. The return of the Messiah is tied to Israel. And that’s why the attacks have been relentless throughout history, through pogroms, wars, terror, and the Holocaust itself.
But it’s not only Israel that he targets. The faithful Church, those who hold on to the truth of Scripture, are also in his sights. They, too, are a covenant people.
In these last days, both Israel and the true Church are at the center of the Antichrist’s hatred. And we are already seeing the signs. Across the world, Judeo-Christian values are crumbling. Churches are emptying. What was once sacred is now ridiculed or quietly erased.
Still, the Word stands firm: “He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps” (Psalm 121:4). God remains faithful to His covenant. His story with Israel is not over. It is alive and unfolding before our very eyes.
After darkness comes light.
After the Holocaust came the rebirth of Israel.
After hatred will come love.
And after the Antichrist, the Messiah will return.
Thank you for not remaining silent. For not turning away. For choosing to stand on the right side of history.
Thank you for blessing Israel, for standing with the covenant people and with the truth of the Gospel.
May you be part of the generation that does not forget , and that prepares the way for the coming King.
