Passover, or Pesach, is one of the most meaningful celebrations for the Jewish people. It commemorates the Exodus from Egypt and the birth of Israel as a nation, a story of freedom and redemption that continues to resonate across generations.
In Sderot, a city in southern Israel just a few kilometers from Gaza, this holiday takes on a deeper meaning. With the war still ongoing, and the constant threat of rockets and explosions, residents try to reclaim a sense of normal life. Among them, the elderly, perhaps the most vulnerable, yet often the strongest, cling to hope and to life itself.
Nelya an elderly resident of the city, is one of many receiving support through supermarket vouchers that allow her to buy essentials for the holiday: chicken, rice, vegetables, and matzah. Despite the fear and uncertainty, she shared a message of hope: “I know the war isn’t over, but I hope this Passover marks the beginning of a happier season.”
Our local outreach center organized a special Passover concert for the city’s elderly. It was an afternoon filled with live music, warm smiles, and heartfelt emotion. Over 100 seniors attended, receiving traditional Passover sets with matzah, wine, and food vouchers. In the midst of chaos, it became a moment of comfort and joy.

The words of those who attended say it best: “The concert was amazing. I loved the passion in the music,” said one. Another added, “Passover is about freedom. I hope we’ll be free from war soon. Chag Pesach Sameach.”
In these difficult days, as darkness tries to overshadow this land, the light of hope continues to shine through acts of love and compassion. We believe that God is near to the brokenhearted, and His presence brings healing even in the midst of pain.
All of this has been made possible thanks to the faithful support of partners and friends who, led by the Lord, have united with us in this calling, to reach lives and bring comfort to this region of Israel in such challenging times.
You can be part of and impact the lives of more people who need help in our city and together show them the way, the truth and the life.
We invite you to be part of our ministry so that together we can bring hope to our border town of Sderot.
Our work would not be possible without the help of partners like you, so we ask you to consider in prayer the possibility of a monthly commitment that will allow us to continue with the Lord’s work here in Israel.

Sincerely yours
