MAJOR DISTRIBUTION OF SPECIAL FOOD BASKETS AND SUPERMARKET VOUCHERS FOR NEEDY FAMILIES IN OUR REGION
Hanukkah, currently one of the most important holidays of the Jewish people, is about the re-dedication of the second Temple of Jerusalem at 165 B.C. after being desecrated by the Seleucids (Greeks) as a result of the conquests of Alexander the Great, who seized power throughout the region.
Our ministry, "City of Life," joins our people in the joy and rejoicing of these days and takes it as an opportunity to bless again the hopeless citizens through the organization of a major distribution of festive food baskets and supermarket vouchers to supply food to the most needy families of our city Sderot and the border area, who mentally and economically struggle because of the situation of insecurity experienced on the border with Gaza and Islamic Hamas terrorism, which invaded the zone on October 7th, murdering more than 1400 people.
These desperate Jews, including young people in need, widows, immigrants, single parents, and survivors of the Holocaust, depend on our commitment to hear the voice of the Spirit and fulfill our purpose of helping them and avoiding that hunger and desolation eclipse the joy and happiness of celebrating this holiday, giving them comfort and encouragement in the midst of their precarious situation.
